Rainy Season
We are experiencing a lot of rain tight now in Hong Kong and in a tiny apartment, there is not much to do...today we will play with play-doh and cook!
Hong Kong is a year-round destination with the winters being rather mild and the summers hot and sticky. The best time of the year to be here is near the end of September to early December. The air is clear and the humidity drops off to about 70% from summer's rainy season of 80% or more. Summers can be very hot and the usual precautions are recommended. One thing you might want to consider is a light pullover or windbreaker tucked in your bag for the powerful air-conditioning in many places (we're not complaining)! December and January see the lowest rainful and the lowest temperatures. By the spring, it's warming up and while it's a bit more humid and a little more rainy than the fall, it's still a good time to be here. Prepare for humid and you'll be pretty much ready for any type of Hong Kong weather.

Hong Kong Happenings
-Hoyer and I joined Kyle for lunch last week, we stopped at a little chocolate place for desserts! Kyle is enjoying work, although he can't not enjoy hot or cold food at his desk...his biggest complaint...so you can say things are going well for him. He works
long hours, but is home every night, which Hoyer and I love.
-Hoyer and Mommy heading out for church, in a new outfit from the smock shop in HK! The mother load of all things smocked and exported to the US.
-Hoyer on his
stool, he uses it to wash his hands and brush his teeth!

-Hoyer and Kyle hopping in a taxi. Hoyer hails taxis now too....
-Hoyer looking out of the double decker trolley window on the streets of Hong Kong.

Lunch Date
Today I had lunch with a new friend, Kim. I met Kim at our church last week, Island ECC. She is
is super nice-has 5 kids-lives in Discovery Bay, which is the area where we are going to move to in July. (D-bay is amazing and I will talk more about it on another post!) Kim had lots of wonderful advise for me, places to shop, where to get my hair done, playgroups, bible studies, you name it, she shared it. I am so thankful for her and her friendship. She has e-introduced me to all of her friends, which was so sweet and I am looking forward to hanging out with Kim and her beautiful family and friends! Oh and it does not hurt that Kim is from the South too!!
Check out her blog, she is super and the kind of woman you just love to be around-click here.

Dragon Boat Festival
Dragon boating, originally linked to the traditional Tuen Ng Chinese festival and the fishermen of the region, has now become an international sport. An event which attracts individuals, clubs and companies as participants and thousands of locals and visitors as sightseers, eager to watch the exciting drama as these long, elegant, exotic boats thrust through the waves of Stanley Bay.
We had a holiday on Wednesday and we all enjoyed the day!
