Peter Pan Goes To Disney

Peter Pan never really warmed up to Tinkerbell. But...

"Hey guys!!" said Peter Pan, aka Hoyer, as he walked up to Goofy and Pluto.

"I like Goofy. He's a boy. He's not scary."

"Pluto is nice too."

Spooky

My grandmother has sent these ghosts every Halloween for as long as I remember. Now, Hoyer started to receive them! We will cut out the spooky ghost and hang it on the door(at Hoyer's request).

Discovery Bay is getting ready for a big Halloween celebration!
We stopped for a pic on our way to school this morning.

Hanging Out in our Bali Neighborhood

Pointing the way to the house behind ours. Of course we had to go all the way tacky and get the brightest shirt and glasses we could find.
A swing on the beach made for the perfect spot to have a drink and cool off before hoping back on our bikes and explore.
A food cart around dinner. Serving a varied meal- the vendor rings a bell with a spoon to alert neighbors he is passing through.
A hanging bird's nest I found to be just adorable!
We loved our neighborhood in Sanur. Lots of locals with a few villas tucked in between made for an authentic Balinese neighborhood experience.
Hitting the beach with our bikes, we rented them for about $2 US a day.
Wood carving stall on the beach- winds chimes and other nicknacks.
Colorful door of a home around the corner from us.
Roosters...they roamed free as did the hens and the chicks, it was nice to be wakened by a rooster on the first day, but by day 5 I disliked the roosters.
Hoyer plays soccer with some of the neighbor hood kids. They play in the narrow streets and kick the ball against the walls of the homes, of course, moving out of the way for motor bikes and cars. Simple is so good.

Bali- The location

We really enjoyed our villas in Bali. We stayed in Sanur for 5 nights in a big villa with a private pool, courtyard and lots of outdoor living space.
Me: "Hoyer what was your favorite thing we did in Bali?"
Hoyer: "Swimming in the swimming pool."
The outside kitchen, living room and dining area. Everything is open and it feels amazing to be outside so much! Bali reminded us of Costa Rica a lot.
Sitting on the front steps of the villa in Sanur.
The "inside" of the villa in Ubud. Our bedrooms were closed with ac, but all the living space was wide open. This villa reminded me of our guest house at North Hallow- same layout!

Silly Kids

Hoyer hangs with friends in the plaza. Emma, seated next to Hoyer, is from France and she and Hoyer have been friends since we moved to DB. They are in the same class at Montessori.

We love the plaza! There are always friends around to play with and be silly!

A Dragon Baby

We are thrilled to announce the expected arrival of Baby #2. He/She is due April 13, 2012 and will be a Dragon baby, born in Hong Kong. This is the most lucky of all the signs and therefore a lot of babies are being born in 2012 in China and Hong Kong this year. The hospitals are booking up fast. We will know if this Dragon Baby will be a girl or a boy in November.

THE SIGN OF THE DRAGON
The key to the Dragon personality is that Dragons are the free spirits of the Zodiac. Conformation is a Dragon's curse. Rules and regulations are made for other people. Restrictions blow out the creative spark that is ready to flame into life. Dragons must be free and uninhibited. The Dragon is a beautiful creature, colorful and flamboyant. An extroverted bundle of energy, gifted and utterly irrepressible, everything Dragons do is on a grand scale - big ideas, ornate gestures, extreme ambitions. However, this behavior is natural and isn't meant for show. Because they are confident, fearless in the face of challenge, they are almost inevitably successful. Dragons usually make it to the top. However, Dragon people be aware of their natures. Too much enthusiasm can leave them tired and unfulfilled. Even though they are willing to aid when necessary, their pride can often impede them from accepting the same kind of help from others. Dragons' generous personalities give them the ability to attract friends, but they can be rather solitary people at heart. A Dragon's self-sufficiency can mean that he or she has no need for close bonds with other people.
DRAGON FACTS:
People born in the Year of the Dragon share certain characteristics. The Dragon sign is an abbreviated way of characterizing that individual's personality. Following are features associated with the sign of the Dragon.

THE WATER DRAGON 1952 AND 2012
Water has a calming effect on the Dragon's fearless temperament. Water allows the Dragon to re-direct its enthusiasm, and makes him more perceptive of others. These Dragons are better equipped to take a step back to re-evaluate a situation because they understand the art of patience and do not desire the spotlight like other Dragons. Therefore, they make smart decisions and are able to see eye-to-eye with other people. However, their actions can go wrong if they do not research or if they do not finish one project before starting another.
