11 Years

It's been 11 years since Kyle was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma .  We met 3 years after the initial diagnosis.
On our first date Kyle told me he wanted to see the world. That he made a promise when laying in the hospital bed-when he could get out, he would live life to the fullest and fulfill his dreams.
I have witnessed him reach his goals and continue to climb.
He is an inspiration to me and to our boys. Never give up, fight for what you want and live out the life you want to live now.
Since that day 11 years ago Kyle has done just that. Father of 4, hard worker, world traveller, loving husband-the list goes on! I'm just pleased that I've gotten to enjoy the ride with him. Thanks for fighting Kyle and thanks for showing us all how to live life to the fullest.

Waiting on GG~

It goes without saying that international travel is for the birds. I know this quite well. And after my trip last year when I was stcuk in the US an additional week due to a hurricane-which ultimitly lead me to miss the last Delta direct flight from Detroit to HK ever, which then lead to me having to drive to Alabama, then take 3 flights to get back to HK- alone with 2 already exhausted kids....International travel is for the birds- or what about the time I arrived in pleanty of time for our flight to HK and the security line was so long in NOLA we missed our flight-well, turns out it is GG's turn for hassel...

She arrived on time for her flight, but because the NOLA airport is so s-l-o-w....and it was Essence Festival....she missed her flight, which means she missed her connecting flight in Chicago and there is no other flight- so she will have to endure it all over again tomrrow! Ugg. POOR GG. We are waiting for you and Hoyer is breaking into the brownies...

Saying goodbye is the hardest thing to do!

Hoyer's sweet friend Ellie leaves Hong Kong for good this week. It will be a sad day for us all as we say goodbye to our dear sweet friends! This is the hardest part about being an ex-pat!

End of School Performace

Hoyer played the role of 'Octopus' in his under the sea end of year performance! He was great and sang a lot in English and Chinese, even had a bit at the mic.
He knew every word to Yellow Submarine! It was a great day!

What a peach!

Charlie enjoys in season stone fruit flown in from the US.
He eats it so quickly we have to stand close so he doesn't eat the pit!
