Singapore Sling

During our recent Singapore getaway-we had a momentary lapse of judgement and went to a bar with both kids. We went for the obligatory 'Singapore Sling' at the Long Bar of Raffles Hotel.
Perception:

Reality:

It soon turned into a circus and after downing the $25 dollar drinks and $15 Roy Rodgers we got out of there.

But not before snapping a few pics from the fabulous hotel.

Chinese cotton candy

Hoyer got to make his own cotton candy today. We passed a man with a little stall on a trip to Mui Wo. What a simple joy. Look at that happy face! Afterwards, Hoyer said, "that was cool!"

A long road home

Spoiler alert:

we made it back to HK!

However, getting there this round proved difficult.

Hurricane Isaac made his debut, and never left-dumping rain on SE Louisiana like mad. That resulted on the shut down of our airport and major roads leading out of Nola.

(my parents street)
With no way out-my sweet in-laws swooped in to meet me and the boys in Hattiesburg where we said a tearful, rainy goodbye to GG and Pop.

The silver lining of evacuation and rerouting was seeing those friends and family in Alabama we had missed.
Caroline came over from the KD house...Katy met us at the airport with chic-fil-a in hand-god bless her!!! And we got to see Will as he was getting off his flight too!!

Sweet Renee stopped by the airport with baby William to say hello and we got to give each other hugs!

We made it on our {delayed} flight to Detroit then Tokyo then HK.

Hoyer and Charlie settled in for the next 20 hours or so of travel...

And we made it-we were all thankful to run into Daddy's arms and collapse.
