My Chinese Painting Class

You may remember I have been taking a Chinese painting class. I love it.  I still have a lot to learn, but I was pleased with this cherry blossom painting from my class this week. Still have a long way to go! 

Spider-Man Bowling Party

Hoyer turned four surrounded by friends! His Spider-Man Bowling party was a success, lots of fun had by all and dog tired kids at the end of the day!  Happy Birthday Hoyer!

Hoyer is four years old today. Where does the time go?

The Weather is Beautiful.

We have been enjoying the beautiful warm weather as we lead up to the Chinese New Year. Maybe it will turn colder soon, it's bad luck to start the new year off too warm.

Happy Chinese New Year!

The celebrations began today at DMS.  A performance and then a Chinese market to buy goods and decorations hand-made by the kids. Hoyer will be off of school all next week and Kyle off for 3 days. It's going to be a great year- the year of the Snake!

Horses in Discovery Bay

A daily sight these days in Discovery Bay! Horses- as the new hotel gets closer to opening, the horses are getting trained to get use to people, buses and other distractions.  The horse and buggy will be used for weddings that will be held at the new chapel and hotel, Auberge.

The Show Must Go On

We won tickets to see a children's play. We won three tickets to a five o'clock showing. Kyle could not get off of work, so Hoyer got to choose a friend. Of course, he choose Ellie.  The anticipation of the night was great. Outfits were chosen days in advance, plans were made, reservations for dinner after the show were set. We headed out, me, Hoyer and Ellie to see the show.

On HK Island!

The faces of two very disappointed children after we learned the show had been cancelled due to a cast member's allergic reaction to dragon fruit. {what happened to understudies?}It happened moments before curtain. So Sad.  

 But, five minutes later and a hundred times of telling and retelling why the show was canceled-these two made lemonade out of lemons and danced the night away!

And we get to do it all over again next week-as our tickets were traded in for another performance.
