Fall Break-Getting there is half the fun!

    We don't travel light.
Getting settled. We flew with friends who were
heading the same way!
We headed to Phuket for our Fall Break. We had been before and knew it would be relaxing and fun with children. Our fist adventure was traveling on the new A380 airbus. A double decker plane-Hoyer and all of us really, were impressed and enjoyed the ride to Thailand.   We met up with friends, the Flores Family, for fun in the sun. The Flores' moved to Singapore right before Charlie was born and we have enjoyed traveling together! The kids always have a great time!

Thumbs Up!

Hoyer and Jake hit the pool and enjoy a treat.
Kyle and Charlie in the pool too!

Happy to be in Thailand!

And lookie lookie-it's another baby elephant! This is Lucky!

I would say we were the Lucky ones- so much to take in in our first day! The baby elephant was a lot of fun for all of us. Even Charlie took a ride- More beautiful pics to come.

Hiking Season-Tiger's Head

It is social, it is tough, it burns calories and it is right behind my house-The Tiger's Head trail kills me-I mean leaves my feet bruised, leaves me sweating for hours, even after a shower-but I like it. Last week it took us 2 hours {mostly due to me asking for breaks....} but this week, we will beat that time.

Ahh, what a feeling once over....peace and pure exhaustion. I'm coming for you Tiger's Head.

 Remember to breath.

 It's all down hill from here, right?

 Views

 The Tiger's Head- see the ears?

 Break please.

The tippy top.

Happy Valley Racecourse

We went out with friends to the Happy Valley Racecourse last Wednesday with friends. I won a few bucks, but quickly bet with my winnings on a horse named Benefactor. Wouldn't you?!?
Well, he lost!  But,  we still had a blast!

Hiking in Hong Kong {as a family of four}

 Hiking in Hong Kong is wonderful this time of year. We even ventured out with both kids this past week.   Charlie slept the entire hour, {can you spot him?} happily situated in the backpack. Hoyer goofed off with his friends and enjoyed exploring all the way up. They were tuckered out {that was the point} and all had smiles and rosey red cheeks at the end.  These are the mountians behind our apartment. What a view!

Turtle Men

Kyle and Hoyer met up with Chris, George and Hugh to feed the turtles recently. It gave the  moms a good idea...

We made turtles the following day after researching thier habbitats, diet and species. {Hoyer was not too thrilled to have his picture taken-but you get the idea!}

Kyle's first cousin, Brad, made it back from his second tour in Afghanistan.  His son, who is a few days younger than Charlie was there to greet him, along with he beautiful wife, Anna. Brad is Hoyer's Godfather and an inspiration to all he meets.  Thanks to all the service men and women. Thanks to Brad and thanks be to God for bringing him home.

Mid-Autumn Festival

A breeze has started to cool things down in HK as Autumn rolls in. In celebration of this and the biggest moon all year-we gathered for the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Lantern Festival.

As usual we got together with friends on the beach and watched the moon rise as the kids played and lit the night with lanterns and glow sticks.

The festivities begin!

The moon rises and the kids shine!
