We experienced our first Typhoon Signal 8 yesterday.
All of Hong Kong shut down. No School, no work, all government offices closed; the financial markets closed and the city ran on very limited transportation systems.
According tot he Daily Mail, the storm claimed at least 35 lives in the Philippines before it barreled toward Hong Kong and then Hainan, off China's southern coast. All of Jocelyn's family is OK.
We were lucky in Hong Kong. We never lost power, but the winds did blow our living room window open in the middle of the night. We were mostly in the outer bands of Nasat's wrath.
With everyone home for the day we just watched TV, played hide and seek, play dough, painted, Lego's, organized closets, dusted pictures, cooked and took long baths...
When we woke up the today, the skies were blue and there was only a few remnants left by Typhoon Nesat. Down limbs and leaves, but not much else. Everything is back to normal.
